Born in Iran and raised in provincial Denmark after relocating as a child, Naghmeh is now based in Copenhagen. Her rich cultural background and diverse life experiences serve as key sources of inspiration for her work.
Always drawn to literature and storytelling, she studied English and Scriptwriting at the University of Southern Denmark before becoming a director. She often draws upon the influence of Iranian cinema, incorporating its visual poetry and sensibility into her work.
Naghmeh’s work is known for its use of meaningful symbols and metaphors, reflecting her strong desire to evoke emotion and inspire reflection in her audiences.
Her many accolades include 3 Bronze Cannes Lions, Grand Prix in film craft at Eurobest, 2 Gold and 4 Silver YDA awards, 2 D&AD Wood Pencils.
