Production Designer, Brant Fraser Production Design
Brant Fraser is a Production Designer from Auckland, New Zealand. He has worked internationally on features, television series and high-end commercials.
He joined the industry in the late 90s, and has worked across many departments, including Production, Camera, AD, and Locations, before finding his home in the Art Department.
Over the past 15 years, Fraser has built up an impressive commercials reel, working with some of the leading directors and production companies in New Zealand, Australia and Europe.
This has seen him working throughout the region and internationally, with directors Christopher Riggert, Mark Albiston, Taika Waititi, Sebastian Strasser, Sam Hibbard, Alex Roberts, Nathan Price, and many more.
He has designed four features, including the critically acclaimed Fantail, and was nominated for Best Production Design at the 2014 NZ Film and TV Awards for the low-budget feature The Last Saint. In 2017, Fraser worked with visionary Indian director Pan Nalin on the 2017 feature Beyond the Known World, shot in the Himalayas and starring David Wenham, Chelsea Preston Crayford and Emmanuelle Béart.
In 2018, he designed The Breaker Upperers, produced by Taika Waititi's Piki Films, which premiered at SXSW and was chosen to open the Sydney International Film Festival.
Fraser is also a keen surfer and traveller, which has seen him spending the last five years living between Sri Lanka and Bali with his young family, returning to NZ in 2024.
In 2020, Fraser, alongside his wife, acclaimed NZ fashion stylist Kylie Cooke, founded the slow fashion label Only Lovers. Together, they have produced collections in Sri Lanka and Bali and multiple shoots and campaigns, featured in New Zealand Fashion Week 2023 and sold throughout NZ, Australia and Asia.
