Director of Photography, CONNECTION
Jin Ito works as a director of photography (DOP, DP) and photographer based in Tokyo. He handles film shoots across Japan and the Asia-Pacific region for projects including advertising campaigns, brand content, documentaries, and editorials.
After graduating from Osaka University of Arts with a degree in Film Studies, he began his career at PICT Inc. (part of the Dentsu Group) as an assistant in photography and videography. In 2015, he became independent as a director of photography, and in June 2019, he joined Connection.
Ito utilises cameras such as Hasselblad, Arri Alexa Mini LF, Sony Venice, and RED, along with anamorphic and spherical lenses from Cooke, Arri, Zeiss, among others. He specialises in global car commercials and beauty photography.
He received the Gold Cinematography award in the Cinematography Above Two Minutes category at the 2021 shots awards for Hawaii Tourism Japan’s video:

and the Gold Cinematography award in the Cinematography Up To and Including Two Minutes category for Honda Space-Hub’s video at the 2024 shots awards.
Additional accolades include being a finalist in Cinematography at CICLOPE Asia 2025 and 2024, winning the Grand Prix at Spikes Asia 2022, Silver at APAC Effie Awards 2022, Bronze at ACC Tokyo Creativity Awards 2021, Gold at APAC Effie Awards 2021, and Silver at New York Festivals 2021 International Advertising Awards.
