EP, Development & Representation, OPC
Emily Harris is the EP of Development & Representation at OPC, an award-winning Toronto production company. In her role she develops talent and champions filmmakers and projects, with a special focus on the intersection of commercial and narrative.
Commercially, during her tenure, OPC’s work has been recognised at major shows including the Cannes Lions, YDA, Ciclope, Clios, The One Show, and the AICP. OPC has been named Best Production Company in Canada by the Advertising & Design Club of Canada three times, most recently in 2023. Harris also co-developed and produces Shop Talk, an annual industry panel event hosted by Jason Stone of David Reviews and OPC.
Narratively, Harris has been central to building OPC’s longform strategy – specialising in script development, international coproductions and fundraising. OPC’s filmography include Daughters (2024), which premiered at Sundance, won the Festival Favorite Award and Audience Award: U.S. Documentary, secured global distribution with Netflix, shortlisted for the Oscars and won a Peabody; The Maiden (Venice, 2022); Benjamin, Benny, Ben (Cannes, 2020); and Are You Scared to Be Yourself Because You Think That You Might Fail? (TIFF, 2024), which won Best Canadian Short at TIFF and later screened at Sundance and Clermont-Ferrand, winning Best Queer Short. She is currently a producer on IMPORT, the debut feature from director Paul Shkordoff in pre-production, helmed by OPC and Sweet George.
