Canadian born director Marc André Debruyne's love for personal, visual storytelling is more than apparent in each piece he creates. His background is as culturally diverse and unique as his work; spanning the globe with roots from France and The Philippines - giving this director a perspective like no other and earning numerous accolades.
The authenticity and emotional undertones of his work immediately strikes a chord, often delivered through a fresh sense of design and composition – a result of years of studying the Arts and Architecture prior to attending film school in Toronto, Canada. After graduating, Marc André’s dove head first into music videos. His passion for music guided his attention to detail. He captured emotions in their purest forms. And with a portfolio of over 160 music videos, he curated an unforgettable tapestry of iconic imagery, often launching the carriers of many musical artists.
Commercial filmmaking was next to come. To date, Debruyne has directed over 150 commercials spanning over 50 countries worldwide.
Working on a global stage for recognisable brands like Proctor & Gamble, Pfizer, Nestlé, Nike, Corona, Coca-Cola, Toyota, Globe Telecom, Esurance, Sprite, PayPal, Tinder, and Kinder - His portfolio speaks for itself, as he has proven time and again to be the go-to director to deliver successful campaigns for high profile clients.
In 2025, Debruyne's Coca-Cola campaign for Balikbayan took home a coveted Cannes Silver Lion, amongst a number of others awards. Consistently nominated for the past 10 years at the Much Music Video Awards, Debruyne has collected countless music video accolades, eventually winning the top prize of “Director of the Year”.
As for his future endeavours, Debruyne has recently been exploring the world of documentaries and television shorts - finding many crossovers in today’s mixed medium commercial work. Whatever the projects awaits, the future is bright for this extremely talented and dedicated director.
