Cinematographer
Grégoire Lière is a French-Australian cinematographer working across film, television, documentary, commercials, and music videos. He studied cinematography at AFTRS and the École Nationale Supérieure Louis Lumière in Paris, France. He is currently based in Sydney.
His short film Snare was nominated for an AACTA Award for Best Short Film in 2019 and had its world premiere in competition at SXSW (2019). Directed by Madeleine Gottlieb, Snare went on to screen at Tribeca Film Festival, Seattle International Film Festival, Palm Springs International Film Festival, Sydney Film Festival and Melbourne International Film Festival. In 2026 it was made a Vimeo Staff Pick.
In 2022 Lière reunited with Gottlieb on the SBS Digital Original series Latecomers, his first broadcast credit. The series earned Gottlieb the ADG Award in 2023 and screened in competition at Séries Mania. Latecomers was nominated for an AACTA Award for Best Online Drama or Comedy (2024).
Other recent credits include the Netflix documentary ONEFOUR: Against All Odds (2023) directed by Gabriel Gasparinatos, which had its world premiere at the inaugural SXSW Sydney.
In 2024, Lière completed his sophomore feature film, Alphabet Lane with director James Litchfield, which had it’s world premiere at the Melbourne Internation Film Festival in 2025 and is currently having it’s theatrical release around Australia.
Lière was also featured in IF Magazine’s Rising Talent issue (2024).
