Cinematographer

UK-born, Melbourne-based cinematographer Max Walter launched his career after graduating from the Victorian College of the Arts. His versatile work spans narrative, documentary, music videos, and commercials, earning him 8 Gold awards from the Australian Society of Cinematographers and multiple Vimeo Staff Picks.

Walter’s high-profile commercial portfolio includes major campaigns for brands like Nike, Google, Calvin Klein, and Cartier. This work has taken him across the globe and is regularly featured in the online platform Director's Library.

He lensed the AACTA-nominated short film Not Dark Yet (2023) with director Bonnie Moir, and has served as 2nd Unit cinematographer for acclaimed directors Glendyn Ivin, Natalie Erica James, and Mark Molloy. 

His recent documentary credits include shooting the Emmy-winning and AACTA-nominated feature Harley and Katya (2023) with director Selina Miles.
