Sarah Cooper’s body of work is diverse, international and memorable.She has an eye for the beautiful & quirky,and a strong visual aesthetic throughout her narrative and commercial work. As a Production designer her sets have included photographic fashion campaigns [Danish label Jack & Jones with Sebastian Kim], advertising TVC’s for global brands [Adidas & Parley],TV Movies [Canadian Incendo Films & Screentime NZ] and Feature Films [Rainpop Films NZ].

Her practise was borne out of fine art - an honours degree at the Ontario College of Art in Toronto. She continued an international practise first with an art scholarship to New York City, then a year long residency in Forence,Italy. Post studies she remained in Europe, basing herself in London where she worked across music videos,commercials and Film.

Notable awards include Production Design Awards at both the Southern Shorts Festival & International Film Awards in Los Angeles for her work on the Short Film I will not Write Unless I am Swaddled in Furs, directed by Wade Shotter in 2018. Her renaissance inspired sets created for The NZ Breast Cancer Campaign and photographed by Steven Boniface received The Gold Winner at the Best Design Awards NZ 2018.

Her most recent project is the NZ Feature BIG GIRLS DON’T CRY directed by Paloma Schneideman with Rainpop Films which recently premiered at the Sundance festival 2026 and featured as part of the official selection at SXSW, BFI FLARE London, TIFF Next Wave 2026 Film Festivals. 

Sarah is now New Zealand based, in Tamaki Makaurau, where she collaborates with Directors, Producers and clients directly.
