Executive Creative Director, Special
Ryan Fitzgerald’s career in creativity has been defined by culturally unignorable ideas. From TV shows, to packaging innovations, mobile games to documentaries, art installations and Super Bowl spots, Fitzgerald has always enjoyed elevating communications above the expected.
Currently ECD at Special, Melbourne, Fitzgerald has held leadership positions across Australia and New York, at agencies including Droga5, BMF and ClemengerBBDO.
Some of his most notable work includes selling Australia to the world under the guise of a Crocodile Dundee reboot for Tourism Australia, breaking the Internet with Robert Irwin and Bonds, shifting the Australian advertising industry towards a more inclusive future with the Shift 20 Initiative, and helping the world to establish its own Black Box in aid of climate change.
His work has been awarded at all major international shows, including Titanium at Cannes, yellow pencils at D&AD, Grand Prixs at Spikes, golds at the Effies, One Show, AWARD and Webby Awards. Fitzgerald was also the recipient of the first-ever Logie for Most Popular Television Commercial.
