Houghton’s film This is Endometriosis won the 2026 BAFTA for Best British Short Film. Created in collaboration with the film’s protagonist, it tells the deeply personal story of Georgie Wileman’s brutal experience living with endometriosis, told with a blend of family archive, self-documented photographs, observational footage and a collection of highly striking reconstructive memories.
This latest success follows a string of highly-acclaimed work. His multi-award-winning film Landline won the Grierson Award for Best Documentary Short and his first short Dear Araucaria, made in partnership with the Guardian, won the Audience Award at Sheffield Doc/Fest. Earth To Cop used found-footage to create an eyewitness portrait of climate change and played at the COP26 opening ceremony before being honoured as one of Vimeo's Best Of The Year.
Houghton’s sensitive, thoughtful approach translates directly to his commercial work where he has been nominated and awarded at the British Arrows, Webby Awards, Kinsale Sharks, 1.4 Awards and selected as part of Vimeo's coveted Top Ten Best Of The Year twice.
